Ohio State Associate Professor of Latino/a Cultural and Literary Studies Paloma Martinez-Cruz (Department of Spanish and Portuguese) reads from her new book Food Fight!: Millennial Mestizaje Meets the Culinary Marketplace. The book’s powerful and humorous gastronomic journey tackles the real-world politics of food presentation and production—from the exploitation of farmworkers to the appropriation of Latinx bodies and culture by Anglo chefs and restaurants—while taking us into transformative eateries that offer homegrown mestiza consciousness.
