Curator Tour

Barbara Hammer and Paul Hill

Join Jennifer Lange and Paul Hill, curator and editor for the Wexner Center’s Film/Video Studio, for a closer look at the exhibition Barbara Hammer: In This Body.

Hammer’s long history with the Wex, starting in the mid-1990s, includes multiple residencies in the studio, screenings in center’s Film/Video Theater and The Box, and a two-year Artist Residency Award. Lange will discuss Hammer’s multidisciplinary approach to representing her life with cancer, and Hill will share his experiences working with the artist over the years, including the process of completing her first immersive multichannel installation, Evidentiary Bodies.

Stay for Mortal Bodies, the first evening of Barbara Hammer: The Body in Film. The screening will delve further into the subjects of aging, illness, and mortality through such works as Hammer’s A Horse Is Not a Metaphor.
