The Foreigner's Home

In her 2006 exhibition at the Louvre, Toni Morrison invited artists whose work addressed the experiences of migration and displacement to join a discussion about issues she'd long examined in her own work, and she had her son, Ford, film her and her activities while in Paris. Several years later, after conferring with the late, great filmmaker Jonathan Demme about what to make of the raw footage, the Morrisons turned it over to Oberlin College professors and filmmakers Rian Brown and Geoff Pingree. Hear directly from the filmmakers about the experience of bringing The Foreigner's Home to fruition on Thursday, May 16, when Brown and Pingree accompany the film to the Wex. Here's a sneak peek.
