In We Inherit What the Fires Left, writer and Black Nerd Problems cofounder William Evans explores the lived experience of race in American suburbs and what dreams and injuries are passed from generation to generation. Writing from the perspective of the marginalized, he delivers an unflinching examination of what it’s like to be a black man raising a daughter in predominantly white spaces and the struggle to build a home and a future while carrying the weight of the past.
In lieu of a reading and book signing planned for today in the Wexner Center Store, Evans agreed to record and share a reading from home. He'll also autograph copies of his book to be sold at the Wex Store when we can welcome patrons again.
Tomorrow's stream: another new film arrives early for home viewing.
