Mom and Dad

(William Beaudine, 1945)

New Restoration

Mom and Dad

Exploitation impresario Howard W. “Kroger” Babb wrapped a cinematic sermon about the vital importance of sex education around then-scandalous depictions of venereal disease and childbirth. One of the most successful films of its kind, Mom and Dad played continuously for 30 years and grossed more than $40 million at the box office. This presentation includes an on-screen vintage lecture about the subject before the film; authentic sex hygiene booklets from the era will be available in the Wexner Center Store. (117 mins., 4K DCP)
