While originally planned in conversation with the Columbus Museum of Art’s exhibition Art after Stonewall, 1969–1989 (postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic), we’re excited to present this selection of Wex-supported, LGBTQ-themed films during Pride month.
This June marks the 50th anniversary of the first Pride march in New York on June 28, 1970—one year after the Stonewall Uprising. Featuring work postproduced during the early days of center’s Film/Video Studio, After Stonewall is free for all to enjoy June 19 through July 9.
A Decade of Caring: A Video Scrapbook 1984–1994

This short documentary looks at the growth of the Columbus AIDS Task Force (now Equitas Health) and its community impact during the AIDS crisis. (12 mins., digital video)

Rock Hudson’s Home Movies
(Mark Rappaport, 1992)
Mining the star’s career to reveal onscreen clues about his offscreen sexuality, Mark Rappaport’s groundbreaking documentary features actor Eric Farr portraying (and appearing alongside) Hudson, one of the first celebrities to die during the AIDS epidemic. (63 mins., digital video)
