Encounter extraordinary artists, filmmakers, architects, curators, critics, and cultural commentators, and engage with Ohio State faculty and visiting experts in illuminating gallery talks, lectures, panel discussions, readings, and book signings.
Super Sunday presents all ages the opportunity for free gallery admission and roving docents to answer your questions along with an afternoon open studio in Mershon Lobby. Local and regional artists are invited into the Wex to infuse the afternoon with their creative take on our current exhibition. Our goal is to help visitors interact with the materials and studio process of artists on view in our galleries and encourage visitors to become more familiar with contemporary artists in our own city. Sometimes featuring live musical performances, you never quite know what you will get to dabble in. Bring the people you love to hang out with and come to meet new friends.
Contemporary art reflects our humanity and guides us to contemplate how we engage with others in our society. The gallery space provides a unique container to cultivate and hold deep conversation, intentional community building, and mindfulness skills. Each of the Art & Resilience programs are designed to not only engage the arts in new and fresh ways, but are also informed by facets of the field of positive psychology that teach us that resilience can be learned and strengthened.
Really love contemporary art? Immerse yourself in the Wex and learn to give tours of our exhibitions to all kinds of visitors. No special training or background in art is required and applicants from all kinds of diverse backgrounds are encouraged. You will be rewarded with opportunities to participate in Wexner Center and university programming in unique and rewarding ways.
